Costco Toshiba Dvr Combo 60 With Regards To My Toshiba Satellite M55-S135 Laptop Computer's DVD-ROM Drive, Any Advice For Fixing It?

With regards to my Toshiba Satellite M55-S135 laptop computer's DVD-ROM drive, any advice for fixing it? - costco toshiba dvr combo 60

The device is not opened. When I open my hand and did not put a disc recognizes that a disc is inserted. Device Manager shows that it works correctly. You do not know if I have any kind of warranty because I bought it at Costco. Less than a year. What should I do? Toshiba website was no help at all.

From your description of symptoms, or have a problem with the lens or the laser. First, try a CD / DVD cleaning disc and see if you make dust and dirt from the lens and it works again. (You can be considered in every business, including Wal-Mart DVD.) The possibility is not likely to solve the problem, the drive is toast.

If less than one years, is still very likely that the manufacturer's warranty. Call (800) 457-7777 for support of high technology OEM Toshiba and I can say. If still under warranty, they will arrange for a new unit for you or send the machine .. depending on how you can use these sorts of issues.

Your choice of a different kind - also work DVD-ROM/burner external USB and does not require opening the PC. You can also use an aftermarket replacement, as indicated above.

The other thing I would uninstall the CD through the window system say in the Control Panel, then reinstall. (May want the drivers on the net, before you find it) Another thing to run a virus scan / spyware. I had many viruses, the CD drives do not work anymore. Just a thought.

Go to Device Manager to uninstall and start the drive, then. You should find a balloon in the tray, "New Hardware". This will reload the drivers. You see, if the counters are in the right direction if you do not have the device you have may be corrupt. If less than a year at your local Costco and see if they will replace. When they do not replace the computer for a new DVD. If you replace the trouble of the drive, as you replace it with a DVD +-RW.

Consider aftermarket replacement. Most local shops, can use high-tech givey or the price of the replacement. It would also be good to find someone (a friend?), Who are working at no cost, all paid for by the parties, and pizza. (smiles).
