Osseous Surgery Periodontal/Osseous Surgery?

Periodontal/Osseous Surgery? - osseous surgery

Hello,

I had bleeding gums in the last 2.5 years without symptoms ranging from pain than ever before. Bleeding, especially at night and drawing sometimes saliva (strength) of the mouth. I had scaling and root planing on the side of the mouth and regular cleaning at other times. In my decision of the family doctor for other things, he suggested going to a periodontist.

The periodontist I visited, on visual inspection and assessment on the basis that I hit a bone surgery.

Visually, my gums normal, no pus or abscesses.

My first hope was that the dentist can suggest therapy non-surgical/convervative (as SRP) ...

Is there a guideline minimum requirements for someone who is a bone surgery? If so, what are they? (such as bags or pockets in the length will be considered for an operation)

Any effective alternative to surgery?.

Please respond.

Thank you!

Hello --
If you use the deep pockets of about 6 mm or more, is not really possible that tools will result in the scaling and root planing on the floor of the pocket to further bacteria and their products clean, so to further inflammation and bone loss. It is not possible, flowed to the bottom of the bag, the movement of the plate to get on a daily basis to allow.

The goal of surgery is to reshape the bone bag so it is easier to clean, both for the dental floss and hygienists during recalls. It may be followed by very effective and advantageous for them through good oral hygiene and regular reminders.

Many have searched for alternatives, including the use of antibiotics, but my impression is that, even if pockets of bacteria, it can not be a good resolution. I do not think that is the life, health and prolonged use of antibiotics that may develop resistant bacteria.

Incidentally, my grandmother had periodontal disease at the age of 45 and went to a periodontist bone surgery. He stopped. He lived to 93 tons and had his ownEeth. So if it seems expensive to offer something that will benefit many years.

Hope this helps
